Accessibility

The King's Trust is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. If you wish to report an accessibility error on our website, please .

Our Commitment to Accessibility

The King’s Trust is committed to making its website accessible, adhering to the Equality Act 2010 and aligning with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

We don’t treat accessibility as a box-ticking exercise. We aim to make our site easy to use for as many people as possible.

This means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts

  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen

  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard

  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software

  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Compliance Status

This site is partially compliant as it does not yet meet the requirements of the WCAG 2.2 AA standard, and we are working to resolve the non-compliant content as soon as possible.

What We’re Working on Next

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • colour contrast for focus indicator on some buttons is not sufficient

  • some forms have incorrect or missing labels

  • some images alt text can be improved.

Navigation and Links

Some links are not clearly announced by a screen reader. This means it may be unclear where the link will take users, whether the page will open in a new tab, or what clicking a button will show. The bookmark function for authenticated users is missing the contextual description. This fails WCAG success criterion 2.4.4 (Link Purpose (In Context)) and 4.1.2 (Name, Role Value).

Some links use the same link text for different destinations. This fails WCAG success criterion 2.0 A 2.4.4 (Link Purpose (In Context)).

Content and Design

Some content is available only in PDF format. Some of the PDFs on our site do not have useful, relevant names and tags. This fails WCAG SC 1.3.1 (Information and Relationships) and 2.4.2 (Page Titled).
