Celebrate Achieve 25 with us

This year, The King’s Trust celebrates 25 years of the Achieve programme.

Achieve was first established in 1998 to help young people develop the skills and confidence to re-engage with education and achieve their full potential.

Today Achieve as a network of over 900 education providers. Last year we supported over 16,000 young people on Achieve, with 64% being awarded a King’s Trust qualification.

As well as taking the time to reflect to on the last 25 years, The King’s Trust would like to thank everyone who supports the Achieve programme.

To celebrate this special milestone our King’s Trust teams have been hosting celebration events across the country.

The team in Wales have been busy celebrating Achieves 25th anniversary too!

Celebrations started with a 25 Years Celebration conference in Colliers Park, Wrexham. Over 40 people attended including our wonderful Achieve Advisors and local partners.

Wales also launched the 'What does Achieve mean to you' competition. This was open to all learners on Achieve in Wales, They were asked to tell us what Achieve means to them in any artistic format.

We had some amazing entries, some of which are showcased below.

King’s Trust Northern Ireland hosted their Achieve 25 celebration event in the Titanic Hotel, Belfast.

There were approximately 100 guests who joined in the celebration. These included school principals and advisers, guest speakers, NI Development Committee, local funders, King’s Trust staff and young people. The event was hosted by KTNI Ambassador Kirstie McMurray.

The event opened with a welcome from Mark Dougan, our NI Director, before we heard from guest speakers Jackie Redpath and Louise Hanvey who spoke about the importance of education for young people in Northern Ireland.

Priory college then showcased a wonderful video that explained what Achieve means to them and the impact it has had on their learning. They also created a sculpture which was on display throughout the event.

Young people Strabane EOTAS centre then took part in a Q&A session where they discussed their progress as well as their community project they completed whilst on Achieve.

Before the event closed Northern Ireland’s regional educational winner Pearse Doherty was invited to the stage to share his inspiring story.

The 25 years of Achieve celebration took place in the iconic Titanic Hotel in Belfast.

Guest speakers joined in the celebrations and reflected on the success of Achieve.

Schools in Scotland took part in a competition to celebrate the Achieve 25th anniversary.

Young people were encouraged to use their creativity and design skills, using any resources they wish, to create a logo and a motto to mark this milestone. The winning entry received £100 prize money from any retail store to support the Achieve network.

The Scotland team receive lots of brilliant and creative entries. To celebrate we would like to share a few of the entries with you including the winning logo from Barrhead High School.
