What is the Virtual World of Work
Give young people the chance to explore real careers, workplaces, and future possibilities — anytime, anywhere. The Virtual World of Work is a flexible, immersive, and interactive experience that helps you to build young people’s confidence, raise aspirations, and equip them to make informed choices about their future. Through real employee stories, realistic workplaces, and guided activities, learners explore what work looks and feels like, discover a wide range of roles, and begin to imagine their place in the world of work.
How it works
Here’s what you can expect from our Virtual World of Work experiences:
Flexible delivery: Tailor the experience to suit your group. Explore at any pace, revisit, and adapted for different learner needs and settings.
Sector-focused modules: Short, themed modules that bring real workplaces and career journeys to life.
Multiple ways to delivery: Deliver as a complete experience or use individual modules to enrich delivery, support career activity, or add value to your wider world of work enrichment offers. Modules can be revisited to deepen learning.
Ready-made resources: Every module can be delivered through an adviser-led session plan or learner-led activity cards, giving flexibility and supporting learner choice.
Aligned learning opportunities: Virtual World of Work experiences complement King's Trust Achieve units and qualifications. However, the resources and activities are not designed to meet the assessment criteria in the tracking sheets. It remains the centre's responsibility to ensure any evidence submitted for assessment is in line with the criteria in the qualification tracking sheets.
